The little big freedom: Recklinghausen city port.

The Recklinghausen city harbor is the smallest in Europe, but leisure is very important here.
The port is located in the middle of the Ruhr area's recreational boating area, a 260 km long connection between the Rhine and Ruhr with the Wesel-Datteln Canal, the Rhine-Herne Canal and the Dortmund-Ems Canal.
Located directly on the cycle path on the Emscher, the harbor is also a popular place for local recreation beyond the city. As an anchor point for the wheelIndustrial heritage route The Time Travel Electricity Museum is located in the former substation and invites you to discover, learn and experiment.

You can also relax in the sand of the beach bar lounge in front of an impressive industrial backdrop with a historic harbor crane, learn stand-up paddling or celebrate with us at the city harbor festival. When do you dock?

In addition to the beach experience, the city harbor offers good opportunities for bicycle tours: The harbor is connected to the Emscherpark cycle path (water culture route), the main route of the "Route of industrial culture by bike" project.
